“Teatro Latino is a new venture for the Manatee Players. Wasting no time, director Richard Garcia chose a difficult tragedy, “Bodas de Sangre.” It’s the first of three written by Federico Garcia Lorca, possibly the most important Spanish poet and dramatist of the 20th century.

For those who don’t speak Spanish, subtitles run above the stage. The first page of the playbill gives us a synopsis of the play. That’s a very good thing because “Bodas de Sangre” is filled with symbolism. Written in 1932, it has been performed all over the world.”
