“Will Ball State University be the school of choice for Indiana’s growing Hispanic population?

Rafael Briones hopes so.

The non-traditional Ball State student is working on a project as part of his master’s degree that will translate more than 100 pages of Ball State’s Web site into Spanish.

The move is aimed to make Ball State more responsive to the needs of its Hispanic students, currently a small minority group on campus. Briones, 33, hopes Ball State takes his translations and builds upon them, eventually creating an entire Web site portal for the university that translates all of its existing content — hundreds, likely thousands, of pages — into Spanish.”
