Just ask 80-year-old Ernesto Lorán.

Lorán enjoys harvesting yucca, “gandules” (pigeon peas) and “–ame” (bitter manioc) in the backyard of his home in this quiet subdivision in Polk City that has become an enclave for about two dozen Puerto Rican families.”
