“I am the Treatment Director for a private, therapeutic foster care agency in Kentucky, overseeing services provided for foster children/youth in our agency that have been placed with us from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS). We have been licensed for the past 7 years, to provide foster care services for children/youth who have been neglect and/or abused, and then removed from their families. We are in need of Hispanic foster parents in light of recent referrals to our agency, where we had no Hispanic families to care for children. WE CURRENTLY HAVE NO HISPANIC FAMILIES, to care for Hispanic and/or non-Hispanic children/youth. Daily, we receive referrals from CHFS on sibling groups and adolescents that we cannot accept because we have no families that can absorb them into their homes, either because they are full, cannot take Hispanic children (due to communication problems), or may not want teenagers. Also, we are ALWAYS in need of foster parents, single or married, of any race, creed, color, or ethnicity. We always provide an orientation (at one’s convenience) to answer basic questions about becoming a foster parent, and provide free training in order to certify those interested in order for us to certify them as state certified foster parents. We pay families $30.00 per child, as a reimbursement, per day, to care for children (Hispanic or not, of course), and these children come with health insurance. So, do the math: One child at $30.00 per day, is $900.00 per month. A sibling group of three, means a foster parent will receive, from us, $1,800.00 per month. Is there typically money left over at the end of a month to do with as you please? Absolutely, as long a the child’s needs are met. Lots of information can be provided at orientation. Please phone me at: (toll free, Monday thru Friday) 1.877.803.0977 Peace! Ask for Scott :)”
