Knowledge is Power!

“Attorneys for the Justice Department are suing to change the way Osceola elects county commissioners in order to give Hispanics a greater voice at the polls.

But the very definition of Hispanic can be so arbitrary that some people question if this can be done.

My voter-registration information says I am Hispanic. I could change it to “white,” “black” or “other” — if I wanted. Anyone currently registered as “white” could change to “Hispanic” without challenge.”
