“Armed with an American flag pen and an entourage of volunteers, Sandra Chacon is going door to door in north Wichita trying to get residents in a traditionally Hispanic area registered to vote.

The 22-year-old, who graduated from Wichita State University in May, has become an expert in voter registration.

She can register anyone in less than a minute — she’s actually timed herself — and has even persuaded a man to register while she was pumping gas next to him at a QuikTrip.”
