Tagged: Escondido“Councilwoman Marie Waldron wants a municipal code that could enable the city to fine or arrest landlords who house illegal immigrants.
“It’s an added weapon in the arsenal,” Waldron said. “Because the federal government has failed us, we can say to landlords who are aiding and (sheltering) illegal immigrants in our city: ‘We now have the power to fine you, and if it continues, to arrest you.’ ””
