“Today, Colorado joined the growing list of states showing Congress that they don’t need any federal laws to deal with illegal immigration.
Could be just my imagination but it almost seems that the Republican leaders in the House have “conspired” to create this kind of state action.
First, they reject the Senate’s version, spread rumors that there would be no compromise, force a long wait before any decisive action can be taken, act like they’re listening to the public while using taxpayer money to travel to sunny places to reiterate the House agenda for immigration enforcement and basically just dribble the ball while states, one-by-one, pass laws that are as punitive as what the House wanted in the first place.”
