Not a sports fan per se, momma recognizes teams not players. But she does know the name of one baseball player who was one of the first to link baseball with Latinos — Roberto Clemente.
In the early years of sports, entertainment, etc., when there were so few Latinos making names for themselves, the community-at-large would take personal pride in those who had made it. “
