“While grocers across the nation talk about catering more to Latinos and make shelf space for Latin products, Grande Foods has become Oregon’s first traditional grocery to undergo such a complete transformation.

Grande’s owners, who hawk the store as the state’s largest Latino grocery, are taking a gamble that the Latino population has reached a level capable of supporting a store on the scale of Uwajimaya, the Beaverton store serving the Asian market.”
