Knowledge is Power!
“The number one cause of death for Hispanics across the country is heart disease according to a study released by the Centers for Disease Control last year.(1) Hispanics are more likely to die from heart disease than from cancer or chronic respiratory diseases or diabetes. Despite these figures, high cholesterol, a leading factor in the development of heart disease, is under-diagnosed due to a lack of information,(2) among other reasons. This risk is particularly pronounced because according to the National Center for Health statistics Hispanics are less likely to be diagnosed for the disease or to have access to medical attention.”
