Site Notes
Tagged: blogThere are a couple of things that I wanted to write about:
- When I send out the HispanicTips’ eNewsletter tommorrow it will be for the 200th time. There are now 170 subscribers. If you would like to subscribe you can do so here
- July 5th will be this site’s 1st anniversary. I was thinking of writing a press release but I don’t think I have much luck with them. I was thinking of a using hispanicprwire but know I can’t afford it at $495 for the full distribution. I am not even sure of the value of press releases especially for a blog that barely earns enough to cover hosting expenses. I think I would rather have readers of this blog run out an tell ten people to check out this site.
- Yesterday and last night this site’s e-mail domain (not the actual site just the name) was, I think, used to send out spam. I did not send out any spam. It is a simple technique that spammers use. Find a domain like HispanicTips.com create fake e-mail addresses and then send them out. This isn’t that hard for someone who knows what they are doing, but if you received spam, I apologize. I got over 4000 bounced spam messages in my e-mail account all originating from what looks like Russia using all kinds of different e-mail addresses like any-crazy-name-you-can-think-of@hispanictips.com
- HispanicTips has grown to big for its britches. My host has informed me that I have to upgrade. Bottomline is that it is going to cost me more to keep this site going. I don’t mind after my decision to close or not. All the kind and supportive notes and comments I received were the fuel I needed. However, there might be some down time this weekend as I transfer over the site.
