“Liberty Tax Service is the only tax service included on Hispanic Trends magazine’s 2006 elite list of the “25 Top Franchises for Hispanics” (June-July 2006). The magazine considers each franchise named to have “made a corporate commitment to recruit prospective franchisees from the Hispanic community over the past several years.” Hispanic Trends also heavily weighed the value of each franchise system’s commitment to training and support as criteria for consideration. In 9 years, Liberty Tax Service has reached the size that it took the other national tax franchises, H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt, 13 years to reach. Liberty’s founder and CEO, John Hewitt is the only person to have founded and developed two franchise systems ranked in the top ten. Hewitt is also the founder of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. In 2005, Liberty Tax Service implemented a Hispanic cultural training program to help franchisees understand the struggle that non-English speaking immigrants face when trying to navigate the complexity of U.S. systems.”
