“The National Association of Hispanic Publications, Inc. (NAHP, Inc) is proud to have John D. Cruickshank, publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, speak on a panel about Hispanic publication trends at its 2006 Chicago Ad Summit. The 2006 Ad Summit will run from August 24 -25 at the Allegro Hotel, in Chicago, IL. The objective of the event is to discuss the changes occurring in the U.S. Hispanic print industry by highlighting company trends and strategies as well as effective advertising campaigns in contemporary Hispanic press.

Cruickshank’s publication has chosen to partner with the Hispanic publication Viva Chicago, revealing one of the three strategies many mainstream publications are engaging in using Hispanic publications to reach Hispanic media consumers. The other two trends recently witnessed in the print industry are launching new Hispanic publications such as Dallas’ Al Dí and Chicago’s Hoy, as well as some well-established mainstream publications purchasing Hispanic publications, such as the Washington Post acquisition of El Tiempo Latino and the Atlanta Constitution’s acquisition of Mundo Hispanico. Cruickshank will be presenting an industry panel discussion focusing on these market trends in the Hispanic print industry during a Luncheon on Friday, August 25″
