“A mid a torrential downpour and braving wet roads, thousands of people left their warm, dry homes yesterday to watch the annual Puerto Rican parade.

In fact, the bad weather may have made the event even more enticing.

“In our country, when it rains we go out and celebrate,” said Carmen Goldberg, president of the Yonkers Puerto Rican/Hispanic Parade & Festival Foundation, which coordinated the event. “It doesn’t damper our spirits.”"
