King’s College addresses challenges of educating local Latinos. Pennsylvania
“A group approached college officials, asking them to hold Mass with a Spanish-speaking priest. The college became increasingly involved in the Hispanic community, said the Rev. Thomas J. O’Hara, president of King’s College.
Helping immigrants has long been a tradition of the college, which was founded with a mission to educate the sons and daughters of coal miners. With the new wave of immigration, O’Hara said the college asked this question: “What can we do best to help this new immigrant community?”
The answer is education.”
