Humane Society educates Latinos in Gainesville, Georgia

“The Humane Society of Hall County has received a $10,000 grant for outreach efforts in the Latino community.

Awarded by the Oregon-based Banfield Charitable Trust, the money will help the Humane Society educate Latinos about responsible pet ownership.

“We’re seeing an increase in the number of Hispanics who want to adopt animals,” said Rick Aiken, humane society director. “Our biggest problem has been the language barrier.”"
