“Due to leave town on business Aug. 28, Ernesto Schweikert caught a Bob Breck update on Hurricane Katrina’s approach and changed his plans.

“He said, ‘You have to leave. L-E-A-V-E,’ ” Schweikert recalled.

Owner of Spanish-language radio station KGLA AM-1540, known to its listeners as “Radio Tropicale Caliente,” Schweikert decided to stay so his employees could heed Breck’s warning.”
