Activa brings local voices to Hispanic radio in Nashville, Tennessee
Tagged: radio, Univision“Television isn’t the only rapidly changing media outlet in town. In April, Spanish radio industry veteran Thomas J. McSweeney took control of WNVL (1240 AM), Activa, Nashville’s only full-power 24-hour Hispanic radio station, and he couldn’t be more enthusiastic.
”There’s a huge upside with the growth, particularly in the whole South/ Southeast. I think it’s not been discovered yet. When I look here at the great clients like McDonald’s, grocery store chains, pharmaceuticals, and consider there are probably 125,000-plus Hispanics that are here ”” it’s a great opportunity,” said McSweeney, who was previously vice president/general manager of Univision Radio’s Los Angeles stations.”
