“In 2003, almost 6 millon workers were injured, 5,559 died in a job-related accident and close to 50,000 died of occupational illnesses. This means that every day 150 workers lose their lives and around 1,200 are injured in the workplace or suffer the consequences of job related illnesses.

It also means that every year in this country more people die at work than the people who died in September 11, Afghanistan and Iraq together. “
