“The Mexican and Brazilian World Cup teams are the biggest draws among Univision viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The television ratings were released today for each of the 29 World Cup matches played since the tournament began June 9.
The most widely watched match so far has been Game 7: Mexico’s opening match vs. Iran on Sunday, June 11. The game earned a 2.7 rating/7.4 share with nearly 3 million households in Nielsen’s National Television Index. More than 5 million people ages 2-plus tuned in to the game. Men 18-49 brought in the highest rating, 3.5, followed by adults 18-34, 2.9; adults 18-49, 2.8; teens 12-17,1.7; and children 2-11, 1.5. Mexico won the match 3-1.”
