Knowledge is Power!

“When Francisco Perez moved to Aurora six years ago, he thought the only way he would ever vote for a Mexican president again would be to return to Mexico City.It was with a sense of satisfaction, therefore, that two weeks ago the independent trucker went to the post office and mailed an absentee ballot. Inside was a vote for Felipe Calderón, who Perez hopes will be the next Mexican president when the votes are counted July 2.

The 2006 presidential election is historic for Mexican expatriates all over the world because for the first time they can vote without going home - often an arduous, if not impossible journey.”
