“The U.S. Forest Service says it is ramping up its recruitment of Hispanics throughout California.
But the effort is being made under pressure from the courts.
In a March order, Northern California District Court Judge Claudia Wilken said the agency has until Valentine’s Day, 2007, to bring its workforce in line with state demographics.”
