“André is originally from Peru. One goal of the weeklong camp, called Fun with Science, is to expose Hispanic teenagers to scientific fields. About 14 students from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky participated.

Many come from cultures where the most educated people are either doctors or lawyers, so they tend to think those fields are what they must study in college, said Richard Durtsche, an associate professor of biology who helps with the camp.”
