Chao Plots First U.S. Tour Since 2001

“Eclectic artist Manu Chao will tour the United States this summer for the first time since 2001. The six-date outing encompasses a previously announced visit to Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 5 and will also stop two days later at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn series.

Chao and his Radio Bemba Sound System most recently toured Latin America for the first time since 2000. And after remaining largely behind the boards on Amadou & Mariam’s acclaimed 2005 album “Dimanche a Bamako,” Chao is now at work on a new studio album, details of which have yet to be revealed.”
