“By now, you’ve seen and heard the disturbing headline: “Hispanic Kids More Prone to Suicide.”

If you didn’t know better, you would have thought that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) had done a special study on just Latino kids, but the truth is that these disturbing facts were uncovered during a much bigger study — the annual Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance — United States, 2005

The sad thing is that in the original press release issued by the CDC, the news uncovered in the survey tried to be upbeat by beginning the press release by citing that fewer U.S. high school students are engaging in health risk behaviors compared to their counterparts from 15 years ago.”
