Court translators busy with Spanish speakers in Dane County, Wisconsin

“There has always been a need for translators in the Dane County court system, both in criminal and civil courts, but with a burgeoning Spanish-speaking population, the courts here have had to take extra steps to keep up.

The courts had to find interpreters to help Germans and Norwegians make it through the legal process in the late 19th century, and to help those who came from Italy in the beginning of the 20th century.”
