Knowledge is Power!
“This February, when A. Jerrold Perenchio, the chairman, CEO and controlling shareholder of Univision Communications, announced that the company was for sale, the news immediately prompted speculation that many of the world’s largest media companies would be lining up to buy America’s most popular Hispanic broadcaster. The likely price tag: $13 billion or possibly more.
That would produce a rich payoff for Perenchio and his partners at Televisa and Venevision, who paid only $550 million for Univision in 1992. Perenchio, who put up $33 million of his own money to help fund the purchase, stands to make at least $1 billion for his stake in the company.”
