“Grupo Televisa SA, the world’s largest Spanish-language broadcaster, said a programming contract bars U.S. partner Univision Communications Inc. from using Televisa content on the Internet.

Juan Saldivar, chief executive officer of Televisa’s Internet, said the contract, which expires in 2017, doesn’t allow either Univision, the largest Spanish-language broadcaster in the U.S., or Televisa to transmit Televisa programming over the Internet in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

“It’s very clear,” said Saldivar. “Univision can’t transmit our programming over the Internet.””
