“Immigration policy has been heatedly argued for the past few years. Radio talk-show hosts and letters-to-the-editor severely judge border sneakers: They break our laws. They’re mad at the sieve that serves as our border between Mexico and the U.S.

They’re upset because some businesses put up signs in Spanish. They want everyone to learn English, not have us make special signs for non-English speakers. They don’t want undocumented workers receiving benefits paid by U.S. taxpayers.

A group of News-Leader reporters and editors asked a cross-section of the local Hispanic community on Thursday evening, for a conversation about their lives in the Ozarks and how they perceive the combustible issues they see in the press.”
