“Members of the state Democratic Party’s Latino Caucus said Saturday that they hope immigration frustration doesn’t translate into passage of a proposed law that would ban many health and social services for undocumented Washington residents.

“Everyone agrees we need immigration reform, but Initiative 946 is not the answer,” said George Cheung, a member of United for a Healthy Washington, which was invited to join a news conference held by caucus members outside Track 29 in downtown Yakima.

The caucus publicized its concerns about the initiative as state Democrats finished up their annual convention in Yakima this weekend.”
