Latino Caucus Supports “No on I-946″ in Washington State

“The Washington State Latino Caucus announced its support for “No on I-946.” The group “Protect Washington Now” sponsored the Initiative which would require U.S. identification for anyone applying for public assistance. The Latino Caucus says it is in-humane towards immigrants because many children and seniors would not receive the health care they deserve. They say immigration rights need to be delt with first, “where you have border security and where you have a path to citizenship,” says Gabriel Portugal Latino Caucus Chair. George Cheung is the campaign manager for “No on I-946 he says, “Immigration is vital to our economy. It deserves well reasoned debate. We need comprehensive reform and that should happen at the federal level.” “
