“Eric Delgado is at home on a stage. The Urbana High School senior plans to pursue a career as an actor and already has earned money and recognition for his talents.

Eric, 17, was one of 18 high school students in the Washington region to win a Hispanic Heritage Youth Award.

The awards, given by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank, recognize Hispanic youth for leadership in their schools and communities.

Across the United States, 216 teens were selected this year from more than 13,000 applicants in 12 geographic regions. Awards were given for excellence in arts and culture, community service, education, engineering, mathematics, health care, journalism, leadership and sports.”
