Spanish-language churches expanding in central Kentucky

“When Victoria Corona first joined a Spanish-language church after moving to central Kentucky, the entire congregation could fit into one pew. Now as many as 200 people attend Sunday morning services at the church, Iglesia Puerta del Cielo.

Corona, who was the fourth person to join the Pentecostal congregation in Lexington, said Iglesia Puerta del Cielo (Heaven’s Door Church) is a special place.

“Here, there’s no gossip, no quarreling,” she said in Spanish. “The love of Christ is always here (and) the church is very friendly.”"
