“The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006, otherwise known as Senate bill 2611, overwhelmingly passed the Senate today with a vote of 62-36.
The fact that some didn’t vote for it, four Democrats and 32 Republicans, was no big surprise.
What is surprising is that some prominent opponents of the bill, who had wholeheartedly agreed with the House’s ill-conceived version, have suddenly “han visto la luz” (have seen the light).”
