“Clara Padilla Andrews, publisher of El Hispanic News, is fighting to prevent foreclosure on the building that houses the bilingual newspaper and a Latino health advocacy nonprofit she founded.

Under pressure to come up with $100,000 in back payments, Padilla Andrews, a prominent Latino community leader, met privately with city and county officials — including Mayor Tom Potter — earlier this week to ask for help.”
