“The immigration debate on Capitol Hill is reaching Alabama.

Local leaders and members of the Hispanic community are watching as lawmakers debate two immigration bills.

Some are also reacting to president Bush’s call for thousands of troops to be stationed along the U.S.-Mexican border.

In Hoover — a town known for a growing Hispanic population — many are closely watching the immigration debate.”
