“Standing Room Only
Retired neurologist Richard Garcia has been in love with Federico Garcia Lorca’s “Bodas de Sangre” for a long time.
“I saw it for the first time when I was a young teenager in Uruguay,” he said. “I was impressed even then by the stunning beauty zed at the chance to make his directorial debut with “Bodas de Sangre,” or “Blood Wedding,” at the Riverfront Theatre.
The play will be performed under the auspices of the Manatee Players community theater at the Riverfront Theatre in July. And, it will be the first play performed entirely in Spanish on that stage. English subtitles will be projected for non-Spanish-speaking members of the audience.”
