Homes elude increasing population of Hispanics

“In fact, professionals see so much potential in the homebuying power of the Hispanic population that they’re getting together today during the Southwest Florida Hispanic Realtors Summit to discuss ways to break down the barriers that keep many from taking the plunge into homeownership.

Hispanics have the lowest homeownership rates in the United States. In 2004, 47 percent of Hispanics owned their homes compared to 69 percent of the population at large, according to the latest census numbers.

But Hispanics are expected to lead household growth during the next five years.”
