“Recognizing the growing influence Hispanics have in Florida and elsewhere, the University of Central Florida is reaching out to the Hispanic community at this month’s Hispanic Business and Consumer Expo.

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando sponsors the annual event that last year drew 20,000 people to the Orange County Convention Center. The event’s big sponsors this year include Washington Mutual, the Republican Party of Florida and Walt Disney World.

The chamber holds the event to promote a variety of businesses and to showcase products and services that benefit Hispanic and non-Hispanic businesses and consumers, said chamber president Ramon Ojeda. The expo runs May 19 to 21 and is expected to draw about 25,000 people this year.”
