The campaign urges Members of Congress not to criminalize caring services to immigrants.
Elements of the “Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005” make it a felony to provide food, shelter, or other caring services to undocumented immigrants and are a part of Congress’ current debate on final immigration legislation.
According to Dr. Jane L. Delgado, President and CEO of the Alliance, “As it stands, this proposal is unconscionable as it directs health care professionals not to help those in need.” “
