“The National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance), the nation’s leading Hispanic health advocacy group, has launched an innovative mobile phone text messaging program as Congress debates immigration legislation. The campaign urges Members of Congress not to criminalize caring services to immigrants.

Elements of the “Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005” make it a felony to provide food, shelter, or other caring services to undocumented immigrants and are a part of Congress’ current debate on final immigration legislation.
