South Floridians divided on sending troops

“From the farms of Homestead to Hispanic-owned businesses in Little Havana, immigrants were split Monday over President Bush’s idea to use thousands of National Guardtroops to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border.

On the 1900 block of Calle Ocho, one of many microcosms of Miami immigrant life, the Dominican cigar dealer didn’t see eye to eye with the Mexican eating enchiladas three storefronts away. And the Honduran day laborers had a different opinion than the Cuban woman leaving a dollar store.”
