“To many people watching their nightly newscasts of immigrants climbing, wading and hiking to reach the U.S. side of the U.S./Mexico border, it would seem that our border is a virtual no-man’s land.

But what is forgotten by those viewers sitting comfortably in their Lazy-boy recliners hundreds of miles from what they’re seeing on their small screens is that there are definite communities that live within this no-man’s land.

Six million people call the U.S.-Mexico border home. People on the border have lived their lives looking beyond origin, skin color and language proficiency of neighbors and town visitors to look at the heart of the person.”
