“North Texans are sounding off on a proposal by President Bush to have National Guard troops patrol the U.S.-Mexico border.
Last month’s historic pro-immigration rally drew hundreds of thousands to downtown Dallas. Domingo Garcia, with the League of United Latin American Citizens, says depending on the president’s proposal that could just be the beginning.
“There’s a lot of concern that if it’s only an enforcement type of immigration policy then that could create problems and the mega-marches could turn into a full blown civil disobedience campaign. A la, MLK and Gandhi.””
