“The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., will host a briefing for members of the media on Friday, May 19 to preview the upcoming NCLR Annual Conference which will take place July 8-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The briefing will be held in Lindsay Plaza in front of the Los Angeles Convention Center beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The NCLR Annual Conference, with an expected attendance of more than 20,000, is the single largest national event of the year in the Latino community. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will join with La Opinión Publisher and CEO and NCLR Board Chair Mónica Lozano and NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguí to discuss the Conference’s return to Los Angeles and to announce the speakers, workshops, entertainment, and other highlights of this year’s event. In addition, Murguí will discuss the recently taped NCLR ALMA Awards which will air on ABC on June 5.”
