“Arnold Velez, 40, who was the original publisher of La Estrella, died in his downtown Fort Worth home early Saturday.

Velez was the publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s bilingual publication from its debut in February 1994 until April 1995.

He left La Estrella to take a job with Chicago-based Patrick Media Group, helping the company reach the Metroplex’s Hispanic audience. Later, he became president of Clear Channel Outdoor Dallas Fort Worth, according to Star-Telegram archives.”
