“The newly created Latino Task Force will hold its first Voter Forum on Saturday, May 13, 2006 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Teichert Boys and Girls Club located at 5212 Lemon Hill Ave, Sacramento. The purpose of the forum is to reach out to Sacramento County’s Latino population and encourage them to become active participants in the electoral process.

Based on the 2000 Census data, the U.S. Department of Justice requires the Sacramento County Elections Office to expand outreach to the Latino community according to Registrar of Voters Jill LaVine. “We are pleased to partner with the Latino Task Force in this important effort,” said LaVine.”
