“The financing arm of Dell Inc. was issued a class action lawsuit alleging that the company had illegally denied credit to Hispanics simply because they did not speak English well, according to Thomas Equels, a managing shareholder of the Holtzman Equels law firm, and attorney Benjamin R. Alvarez, who filed the suit in federal court in Miami late Thursday.

The class action suit alleges that Dell Financial Services LP, of Round Rock, Texas, violated the Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act by refusing to provide credit to individuals based on their ethnic backgrounds. The suit was filed on behalf of Juan Arteaga.”
