“When Gloria Molina told her mother she wanted to go college, she heard something many high school student don’t.

“She said it wasn’t necessary. I had a very traditional Mexican mother, I was the oldest of 10 children. College was not what she expected,” Molina, 57, now a Los Angeles County supervisor, said Thursday in Las Vegas as she received Hispanic Business magazine’s Woman of the Year Award.”
