Cinco de Mayo provides an opportunity to celebrate Mexican culture, and you’re likely to hear mariachis, along with other styles of music and dance, at observances all over town. The holiday, which marks the victory of the Mexican army over the French in the Battle of Puebla, is a bigger deal in some parts of the United States than it is in most of Mexico.”
